You can also clay bar your windows and it does the same thing as it does for the paint. Removes all the crap to allow for a smoother wipe.

I tried out some of those new Aunger ones the other day. I tried 3 sets and none would wipe the passenger side propperly. They all missed a bit in the centre of the wiper blade. No idea why, so I took them back and got a refund.

Thanks again guys for all your advice. Things have been fairly busy, so I haven't had a chance to look at the wipers until today. I need to call on the collective wisdom of the Aus-cartalk community again. This may sound like a stupid question, but how do you get the existing wiper rubbers out? On previous cars when I have changed the wipers, there has been some form of clip you squeeze, which releases the rubber, and it slides out. On my current wipers, there is nothing like that. The 'captive' end of the rubber has a hole where the clip on the blade holds the rubber, but no way to release it (that I can work out) without breaking something. It looks like the wiper rubbers are the genuine Mazda ones, but I'm not sure. If anyone has any advice, that would be great! Here is a pic so you can see what I'm talking about:
Thanks again
Ian

SM wrote:not sure how much this will help but normally you can remove the metal strip parts of the wipers by just sliding them out leaving the rubber behind which can then be taken out
Thanks SM. I had a look, but the metal strip won't come out easily (without breaking it at least). The rubber is held in the grooves by the 6 clippy type things (non technical name) on the blade, but the end one, as pictured above, sits into a molded slot on the rubber that doesn't appear to have an easy or obvious way of releasing it.

Just pull the end of the blade out of it's retainer thingo. It's rubber and pliable. You wont break anything. Once it comes out of it's retainer thingo slide it off the \"6 clippy type things things\" the same way you would normally remove a blade.

they lasted all of 8 hours in the car...i then bought some bosch ones and although they arent quite as good at wiping they are quiet!

Thanks Garry. I'll have another try and see how I go.
