Waaaaaaaaay too much time on your hands!!!! Impressive effort though I'm glad I'm not trying to keep it looking that way once it's actually a running engine  8)

Its actually not that hard - my NA8A engine looked like this. In fact its easier to keep a polished engine clean then a std one.

Just wax the polished bits regularly with some yellow wax or similar - once a month is heaps and well worth it.

Looks great Okibi - what happened to the original donk?

Now you know why I didn't last in the show and shine scene! I worked out early on that I'd rather spend the weekend driving as opposed to polishing. I can certainly admire the effort though as I've been there before....but I still think your MAD! Must be getting close now Okibi........what bits are left.....clutch perhaps?

Yup waiting on a clutch, flywheel and I need to chaise up some fittings for the oil cooler.

I'd rather be driving than polishing too, but since I can't drive my car i'd rather be doing something to improve it.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

What? Once a month you can't afford 5 mins extra when you're doing your weekly checks of the oil and tyre pressures? Regular maintainence is easy - as long as it is regular, and you pick up any problems nice and early.

I bought the intake already polished but had it \"touched up\" professionally when I got my cam cover done.

Everything else i've done myself with a combination of the dremel, a bench grinder (with buffing wheels) and some buffing wheels that sit in a drill.

If I had a bit more cash i'd be looking at something better to strip down the cast marks before polishing. I tried what sand paper I had laying around but sometimes the scratches are harder to buff out than the cast finish.
