Thanks for clearing everything up Jerry..

Im about to order a Fuji IRTB kit from Jimmy in the states, im a little worried about running them with that subcon ecu they come with. Do you have any idea when the MSPNP will be avaliable for the 94 and up NA8? I would much rather run your system than a piggy back.

Should be easier to tune too..

Cheers
Ryan

Another vouch for Jerry and DIYAutoTune. I bought my MegaSquirt stuff from Jerry, awesome service!

1.8 and 1.6 have different piston spacing and i'd say the stud locations would be different too.

Would be better off building a custom one if you want megga flow, or get the stock one extrud-a-honed.

Rob E bought one then sold it to zoomzoom. I'm not sure if he has installed it yet though. PM him and kick his ass for him, he needs to put it in!

I can tell you that it does work as it has been tested on a mates car. I plugged it in just to see that it works with the cable that I bought, but I need to get the wideband and a couple other things from diyautotune before I can set it up on mine. I will need to do a bit of work on the maps to make it work with my cams, if it will work at all on MAP.

Another couple things, the thing looks dead sexy and the red bit glows a little when it is powered up.

I will also be looking into setting it up with another manifold and throttle body to get a variable tps and will be looking at setting that up too, more on that when I get there, I just want to get it up and runing before I get there.

Another vouch for the guys at DIY autotune too, all communications I have had with them have been very quickly replies with great service.

:? The microtech is not plug and play. You go ahead and pay $1050 for a ecu that you will then have to wire up, and tune $$$. I would rather just plug this in and have it startup from the get go running a good base map.

MT has good base maps in it. I drove an entire Walcha run in NSW (about 1000kays) on base microtech maps - no issues.

Microtech can supply a pnp loom (extra cost though) and it also come with built in map sensor. Worldwide distributor is in NSW Aust too.

Each to thier own, microtech has the runs on the board, but the more i read about the MS, it looks to be getting good results too.

The more choice we have, surely the better products will become.

Micotech is Aussie developed and produced.
When results speak for themselves - don't interrupt.

After seeing the MSPNP in action tonight (and annoying the neighbours with the surging idle, hehe), I'm pleasantly surprised. It's a professional-looking little unit, and I'm currently weighing up purchasing the MSPNP for the 94s.

My only concern is tuning. My car isn't exactly stock, so I'd have limited use for the included base map. Anyone know of any QLD tuners that know how to work one?

the base map on mine only goes to 100 kpa, but the included base map with the software is mapped up to 240kpa. So I assume you could use this for a good base for plenty of boost.

A mate of mine took his MS injected car to the local dyno and the operator raved about how easy it was to tune...

there is a megasquirt forum on miataturbo.net, i think there is a sticky there with a bunch of maps for different setups. the guys there seem to happy to share info , you should be able to find a good starting point from someone with a similar setup as yours, and fine tune from there.
