Awesome day/evening! thanks to Jules and Tab, great shed and setup! Good to see dodgy days just keep getting better and better, with no limit on dodgy events being given a go! Think we also broke the record for wingzzzz!!

I went over 7pm today to pick up the projector... poor Geoff still working on the beast :shock:

Cant wait till the next one... new clutch/flywheel and seals will be on the agenda... though i dont hink ill be dropping the gearbox. I got the strange feeling it would be easier to pull the engine.

Hmm does anyone want to write an article for the club magazine? Doesnt have to be anything big.

BTW.. the wingzzzz record was 8 Kilos, and I've never seen them eaten so quick. Usually people hang back and wander in for wingzzz well after they have cooled down. You needed asbestos fingers to get one this time. I have to order more Franks and more Wishbone this week now.

Jules is a legend. I owe him bigtime!

Short summary: no oil pressure. Primed pump, still nothing on gauge. Checked for oil pressure via other (very messy) means. Woo! Turns out the way I told saboteur to remove the sender must have killed it. Luckily we salvaged the one off of KitKat's old engine first.. but that's not in yet.

I made it home on the new engine. Expecting some big disaster.. the only thing that seems to have gone wrong is that I didn't do the clutch slave bolts enough and ended up stuck 20km from Brisbane. I only just got home now after waiting for god-damned ever for a tow.

A MASSIVE THANKS TO:

AJ, NMX516 and Mr_Starlet for the gearbox removal (the morning shift) and to Eric and Red5's young fellow for gearbox reinstallation (the evening shift)... That was a painful experience, and I'm glad it's over! I found the source of a lot of the mess under my car was not engine oil from the rear main (which wasn't leaking AT ALL), but was gearbox oil from the front seal (luckily I had planned to change that too!

) and Clutch fluid from the slave cylinder...

An even MORE MASSIVE thanks to Jules and Tabs for holding the event, and a super special thanks to my wingman for the late shift, Cal (Jules Jnr.) for all the help.

Apart from the leaky slave, it was a very successful clutch and flywheel change! The extra weight of the flywheel makes the power delivery a little different, but not very noticeably.

Sabre - you didn't check tholse last two bolts again did you???!!! :roll:

BOAGS - good to hear the gearbox went in - do tell - what particular issue was it that caused so much fuss?

I need Red5 to call so I can arrange to finish painting (next dodgy SWMBO is not allowed to arrange a dinner with friends on the same weekend) and I'm also keen to find out who has my 2 sets of vehicle stands and creeper, as well as OMY005's tools so I can return them, along with that shortnose crank he is receiving.

I left a ton of stuff behind.. at 3am I wasn't in the \"pack efficiently\" mood. I'll have to come by soon and grab stuff, and clean up!

One set of those ramps is saboteur's. Minh's oil pan is there as is Andrew's load balancer.

And hopefully gus gets back on his feet (foot!) soon!
