Rota Slipstream

Postby Boost » Thu Apr 26, 2007 11:45 pm

Hi guys,
Just wondering what your opinions are on the Rota Slipstream wheels?
They are replica Spoon wheels. 15x7 weights in at 12.9lb and 15x6.5 at 11.9lbs. I can get a secondhand set for $850 with standard road tyres.

Also would 15x7 +30 require guard rolling or would i be better going with +38?

Cheers guys!

pics first. weights are ok, but you could get wider for the same amount. 15 x 8 ftw

does it have a centre cap? might be just me, but all those holes would detract from the image i think. otherwise fairly good :D

Nar no centre caps for the slipstream.

Would 15x7 +30 require guard rolling?

Boost, i am on 15x7 +35 with no problems......this is on 205 series. If you went to a 215 you would need it roll i reckon. 195 series would be a problem i reckon, also depends on how much camber you are running.

THey belong to a mate of mine, so i get a chance to test them on the car and see how they look before i buy them. Ill post some pics when i get them on.

Im still undecided on whether to get the slipstreams 15x6.5 or the RB 15x7 +30. If the +30 fits under the guards without rolling them i might put alittle more effort into sourcing the RB's, other wise ill just get the Slipstreams.

Are the RB's the Watanabe lookalikes?

I reckon they look hawt on a MX5 (NA especially....less so on NBs) but the Spoon style is definitely more unique. I guess it depends on what MX5 you have 8)

Yeh the RB are the watanabe look alike. I have silver NB8A so I wont look as sweet as it would on a NA but hey it will still look Good!
Do you think the +30 will be a guard issue?

same style as mine but mine are the desmond Regamasters. still a 15x7 in a +35 offset i think mine are.. rolled gaurds with 225 wide rubber and they still scrub.. but not alot only on big bumps 215 or 205 and they'd be fine but i like the phatt look
