The guy in WA buys several of the American ones at a time and then sells them on ebay Australia for a profit. Skip the middle man and get it from the US for less than $200.

To be honest, I noticed almost zero difference going from the NA8 brace to the BD steel roll bar. Unless you were starting from a NA6 base with no cross brace, then in reality, there is little difference between the \"mouse trap\" style-bar and the BD bar. Of course you are comparing a $200 bar to a $700 one. It's probably more worth your while putting your pennies into the butterfly brace.
For me, I love the looks and surity of a proper roll bar and can always add a BD to passenger floor bar in the future for much more rigidity.

The ebay ones are made in China... They are a copy of the RBII style bar. The material and the welds are probably not as good, so inperfections are common. For me, a few imperfections are ok if it saves me $700ish and the product still looks the same. Personally I love my eBay one, and only notice flaws if I'm really looking for them. Some people can afford the best for their baby. If I could, then I'd probably also go with the RBII and not a copy.
It is always a trade-off between quality and price. As always, get the best you can afford.

The USA ebay guy (well... DRIVENGEAR who seem to be the only ones with them atm) dont want to ship to Australia
sorry its too expensive to ship this to AU, so we don't want to ship.
Not sure if this means they won't do it because freight actually is a killer or because they have an arrangement with the WA guy?
