fitting avo manifold

a few tips would be appreciated.

i know this is gonna be a prick of a job. should i remove the t25, fit the mani and then bolt the t25 back on. or should i bolt it all on as 1 unit.

either way, there are a few bolts that are going to be very difficult to get to.

When doing Geoff's we had the manifold fitted up before putting the hairdryer on, if possible it would be far easier to put the dump pipe on outside the car also.

I did the whole lot as one turbo manifold and dump pipe

I tried the other ways but thought it would be easiest and I reckon it was damn close to being the easiest way

you will have to buy a nother 14mm spanner as a sacrificial one and cut the hell out of the open end so you can get the nut on in between 2 and 3 runners

easiest way to do that nut is wind it on as you are pushing the manifold on

thanks guys. ok i'll try to fit the lot in one go first.

i bought 3 14mm spanners from supercrap auto , as i had read before that i might need to grind them down. $1 per spanner, not bad :mrgreen:

I don't have an AVO manifold, but with my SP motorsport one I assembled both and then fitted it to the car.

Later down the track I also got a $1 spanner from bunnings, and ground it down so that it would fit in the tight spots on the manifold. Also, taking an angle grinder to certain surfaces helped immensely with nut access.
