HI,

Dorians DONT need to mount ouside the car...just no metal betweeen Dorian & ground. I place mine over a perspex window in my race car, never had a drama. Besides, they are a good investment, if you ever need to sell it when your finished racing, you'll ususally get 300-350 for it if in good condition, with charger, base, etc.

Besides, if you want to go racing (in vic at least) you have to have a Dorian.......

PS: if you only want lap times, aimsport MyChron's are pretty good...tech support sh*&^house, but i have had good sucess interfacing it to my mOtec M800, etc. Well worth the 450 odd dollars...
