Paul,

i have just started in the 2F class as well . I have run 3 meetings so far . I
have a turbo street car and was tossing up whether to build it into a race car
or buy another and run naturally aspirated before i started.. watching one
meeting last year made my decision very easy . like cal has said there are
so many 2F cars and the racing is awesome. i don't see the point of having a
turbo and pretty well racing yourself all weekend..Also the turbo car doesn't
appear to finish many races ???

My car isn't here at the moment but you are most welcome to come around
for a chat anytime .... or give me a call just PM for the number

Andrew

PS the only trouble you would have with a hard top is if you were tall like over 6 ft with meeting roll bar clearance rules..

Andrew, I think we had a chat at the first round of the QRCS didn't we?

Thanks for the offer to catch up. I'm heading off for a weeks holiday today but I'm heading out to QR to try and catch up with some of the guys at the Top Gear meeting on the 15th. If you are there I'll drop in and say hello.

Thanks for the heads up (pardon the pun) about the hardtop. I've read a few posts regarding this issue so it's something I'll have to look into. I'm about 5'10\" so I might get away with it :D

I'm 5'11" and run a hardtop. I have a Sparco Sprint bolted to 10mm think alloy seat rails bolted to the floor. My rollbar actually hits the hardtop and I ground away a bit of material from the inside of the roof. You can make it work fine.

Sorry, must be mistaken identity

I met another Andrew from the MX5s who was talking to me about the option of either doing up a turbo car to run in the JDM group or run the MX5s. What a coincedence.

Hopefully I'll catch up with you on the 15th.

Well I managed to get out to QR and see some of the guys in action yesterday. A big thanks to Cal and Andrew for giving me their time, I know how hectic those Top Gear days can be.
I've put the STi up for sale so I hope to be able to join in the fun sooner rather than later.

Even though, you are going slower, you might find you are having more fun. I've only dríven a stock STi on the track and a stock MX5 is certainly more \"fun\".

Where have you advertised your car?

I've advertised it through the WRX Club of QLD, and the main WRX forum in Australia. I will wait 48 hours or so and advertise it on MY105 and maybe Carsales.com.

You might want to put it on Performance Forums. It's free and has a fair bit of traffic: http://www.performanceforums.com/forums/
