Falken Ziex 512

got these new tyres with my new rims(pics to come soon)...
anyway, first impressions of these tyres are very good. dry grip is very good and predictable when they actually do start to lose traction. a bit loud on the road but that doesnt bother me. not much sidewall flex, but unforgiving over humps so far...havent had any wet weather yet but ive heard they r excellent in the wet. they r supposed to be on par with the toyo proxes from what ive been told.

anyone else had any expereicne with these tyres?

If these are the same ZIEX 512's of a few years ago (I had some of these on my '97 NA8A), they are down right dangerous in the wet. Mazlot has a similar view of them.

In any sort of reasonably heavy rain on the freeway I had to slow to 80km/h to keep it on the black stuff.

Falken make some excellent tyres, these aren't amongst them.

hmmm. interesting. i took the car for anohter spin last night and i really like the way the tyres grip and especially how they progressively lose traction. i do about 600km a week in my 5 so really sticky expensive tyres are out of the question. i chose these falkens over the toyo proxes as ive heard really good things about them and also that they have a rim protector.

they are very good with the first 50% of the rubber, but after that, I realised that they are not grip as much especially on wet.. :)

x2

but Zeix 512 cost $125 for 205/45R17... which is very attractive... :) and within that price range, not sure if any tyres out there better than that..... any suggestion? :)
