How to remove handbrake button

Postby Benny » Fri Apr 13, 2007 1:54 pm

I have changed my handbrake handle, but can't for the life of me, get the button off the end.

Any tips on removing it, and replacing it with another shiny button?

I replaced mine a couple of weeks ago. It just unscrewed - no trick to it (could be tight though). I believe the NBs are the same.

I just used one of those rubber mats that you use for opening jars and bottles, etc. Grab and unscrew.

By the way, when sitting in the car, it's right turn to loosen and left to tighten.

Theres a screw that holds the 2 halves together, undo and then they should pull apart with a little coaxing, twisting and sheer bute force if required.
