Hi Guys
I was in Corryong in March and did the drive from Khancoban to Jindabyne. Amazing road. Check it out on whereis. not more than 100m of straight anywhere. Very steep climbs in many places and I had to stop a few times to let the temperature settle down. It was a hot day to start with. So much so that a swim in Lake Jindabyne was required before the return trip.
Compared to other drives, the steep bits were like the last bit up Mt Baw Baw and the twisty factor is up there with the Reefton.
Highly recommended but not during winter as it's the road into Threadbo Village.
Interesting fact: On the day I did the drive there was a ticket booth open at the Jindabyne end of the road taking money for admission to Threadbo. There was nothing at the other end. Threadbo was quite busy with hikers and mountain bikers
Down side: It's a long way from anywhere but worth a detour if you're in the area.

Yeap, heaps of fun but watch out for Mr Plod hiding in the shubbery just before Threadbo. A lot of the good stuff on that road has a 60kmh speed limit and it's easy to be doing well over 60kmh along there if you're concentrating on the road and not your speedo.

And the great thing is you get fined for looking at the road and not the speedo. I love how safe the roads are now.
