Will you have it tuned and going for this Sunday's run?

I broke the news to the oldies last night actually. It was Mother's Day in Ireland yesterday, so the timing wasn't great!

It is possible that I will be there, yes. It is safe to drive as long as the needle stays beneath boost. I have retarded the timing to 6*BTDC, so pinging isn't really a concern until above 4Krpm and about 5 PSI (where the computer sh!ts itself and wonders where all the fuel it is putting in is going!).

Hopefully the issue is as easy to sort out as the US-forumites say...

Rhys: Thanks, and yes I have. 8)

Broady - Thanks!

Man, very covert. Great job. Congrats.
This is so cool. I'll never have to go this route, there's just so many options of loaners out there

good work mate!!! gotta love the DIY turbo kits!!!!
Just make sure you keep the water topped up in the wiper resivour otherwise it'll melt faster than a fat kids icecream in the sun!!

You could try out one of the (many) maps i have for the EManage, they're all pretty damn safe, or just make sure you pull plenty of timing while in boost. I'm only pulling 1 deg per pound of boost, but seems to be pretty safe. And use a wideband or even your narrow band to check the AFR and just make sure its a tad rich - or even right on the \"proper\" AFR numbers of around 12.1-12.5 which will still be plenty safe with the minimal timing advance.

Tops effort mate!
Dave

Was just having another look at your install photos. If you find that the hose clamps slip on you give these a try.

I believe these are the ones used on the SP. I was having problems with one or two of my clamps slipping, switched to these and have not had that problem since. They are about $12 each though.

Thanks guys!

I will be tuning the ECU to be in closed loop on boost, aiming at 12.5. At the moment I have my timing at 6*BTDC, which I will advance to 16-18 from idle to about 3.5 when not in boost. about 10-14 from 3.5-5 when not in boost, and 10 to redline when not in boost. On boost timing will start from 14at 2000rpm and pull 1* for every psi of boost. (that should leave me at 5-6*BTDC... 8)

Juffa, thanks for that link, I'll replace with decent clamps when they start to die (which I'm sure they will). Great link, looks like a good product.

Sean - I'm going to get rid of the passenger seat and mount the NOS in the car next to me. Great idea huh!?

Still no news on tuning though, I had to go to UNI this week, after spending all last week on the car.

Yes I did, thanks. Very helpful, and I learnt a lot about the mapping side of the eManage and have already altered the timing map for my needs. 8)

I have no idea how I'm going to get those maps onto the Libretto though!

The maps aren't, but the updated software is. I can't zip it either, cause the Libretto has an old version winzip which isn't compatible with new formats... I need Sab to hook me up again!
