G'Day all
Firstly, here is what i am talking about http://www.mx5mania.com.au/product1265.htm
I have been interested in these little devices for some time now and was shocked when i saw that Mania now stock them... (at the same price as the importer is selling them for too!)
Has anyone actually tried one of these things, do they work?
Is anyone interested in a group buy of these little suckers??
Thanks and regards

CG Lock
I've used one for a couple of years for hillclimbs, motorkhanas etc.
It pulls the belt in as tight as you want across your middle, and refuses to let go. So it does hold you in better than a standard lap/sash belt.
Its a poor substitute for a harness, but better than the standard belt.
I paid $50 more than three years ago and can still get them at this price.

I'm trying one at the moment (I'd spotted them on the web and asked Simone to contact the Oz distributor) and it seems pretty good so far. I'll see how it goes at our skid pan day but it works as advertised as far as spirited day-to-driving - I've never felt so snug going through Galston Gorge.
Anyone who comes to our skid pan day at the end of April is welcome to try it. It only takes a couple of minutes to swap it from one car to another.
As for a group buy ... mmm, can't hurt to ask but I know what the distributor is charging so don't expect too much. We may look at other sources as personally I think they'd be a no-brainer at a slightly better price.
