DIY Soft Top Cover (with pics)

I started to notice a bit of fading on the inside of my soft-top where it was exposed when the top was down having heard from just about everyone that you can't get a soft top cover boot thingy that will fit with the rollbar and not wanting to buy one for ~100-150 jsut to cut it up I decided to make one

when I was in Clark Rubber looking for the chequer plate flooring to make my mats I decided I might as well try making my own cover thing as well

Materials
Black Vinyl ($12)
Bailey Channel ($20) (got heaps left over so if anyone wants some let me know)

this is the bailey channel it was the only thing I could find that would fit on the edge used for the factory cover

basically just layed the vinyl on the car and used a stanley knife to cut it to shape(with blade facing upwards so it didn't mark the car at all), used a bottle cap for the round holes where the rollbar is then stitched in some of the bailey channel where it was needed





I still haven't figured out the best way to anchor the flap near the front of the car but I'll figure it out later

only took me about 2hrs all up I think, I'm not good with a sewing machine so all the stitching on it was done by hand but at least I got paid for it did it all while I was at work

let me know what you think and also if anyone has any idea's about mounting it or knows where I can get some of those clipy things to use the clips that are already on the car from the stock cover

You can buy those clips from any spotlight store. I've got a packet in my glovebox for some reason. I don't really remember why I have them...
