Just bought myself a hardtop.
When fitted to my car, the center part of the top where it meets the windscreen sits about 4mm too high, causing wind noise at speed.
I found a possible fix for this on Miata.net, where you move the latches on the top inwards and the plates on the windscreen outwards.
I'm assuming this \"stretches\" the hardtop out flat.
Has anyone tried this, and does it work?
Thanks!

Another question for the hardtop owners:
With the hardtop fitted, the chrome \"boxes\" at the rear seem to sit too high off the deck. I can push on them and get about 5-10mm downwards movement.
It's almost as if the height of the frankenstein bolts needs adjusting.
Also, the screw that opens the lid of the right-hand chrome box is very stiff, and won't budge. Stripped? How do I get it out?

Sounds to me like you just don't have it on properley....
Put it on from at the back first, by sliding it forward over the frankenstein bolts. The chrome "boxes" have a slot in them which the head of the franky bolts slides into. When installed they should sit flush on the top of the bodywork of the car. You shouldn't be able to push them down at all.
Once they are on it will be easy to flip the latches closed just like putting the soft top up.
The owners manual outlines how to fit it too
