what else needs to change with JR SC kit

if you want forced induction you are looking at $$$.
look at replacing almost everything.
- clutch
- need a good diff
- brakes
- exhaust
- injectors & internals
sure you don't NEED to replace anything and you can leave it all standard. but sooner or later (more so sooner) something if not everything will go POP - guaranteed if everything is left standard. then you are looking at massive labour costs on top of your already expensive install...either that or you will end up, up the rear of someone or wrapped around a pole. my opinion : if you are going to do something make sure you do it right and then you only need to do it once.
goodluck with the install...keep us up to date with your progress...not many SC freaks on this forum.

This is only the case for the 1.6L JSE.
Clutch in the NB is good for over 140rwkw. The diff is good for stupid power (but you might want an LSD for preference). The brakes are good - especially since you have decent pads and slotted. Internals are good for nearly 200rwkw too.
You will need more fuel I think though. If you want a nice SC setup running around SP power (~130kw), then you'll be fine. The NB8B is a good base to start from!

this is what i was worried about... might be a little more before i do it... all of a sudden the Mini Cooper S as a daily starts to grow again.

The SP ran a stock engine/clutch/diff/brakes (i.e what Ringo has now) so don't panic too much about a lesser powered supercharger!

Sure in time when the clutch wears out (may be close now depending on current klms and driving style!

First of all you need bling!

This car (a silver NB8B - same as your Titanium) is completely stock save the S/C and a lot of shiny things. I would suggest you need to consider a new ECU as the MAF can't really cope very well and getting a new ECU with a MAP helps the drivability enormously.

When driving normally, your fuel consumption shouldn't be altered too much, depending on what sort of tune you have. Your exhaust will definately need to be changed, it'll be too restrictive....think of it as trying to do a no. 2 with ur undies on.....u get the point

Yes it involved a certain camry driver on the OPH

Haha nah a mate of mine supercharged his car, but left his standard exhaust on and wondered why the power gain from the sc wasnt that much

Incorrect if we are talking about an NB and the fast forward kit. According to Tom from FFS his 05 made no more power with the stock 2" exhaust vs an open one. He recommended a 2 1/4" if you want some exhaust note (which I will be going personally). He did say the cat might be worth changing on the stock nb exhaust if its blocked up, doubt yours would be. An NA exhaust is a different story though, its definitely worth changing.
Pretty much all of the MX5 sc kits are designed to not start building much boost until about 30% throttle from my basic understanding, so mileage isn't much affected (if you don't have it on the floor every five seconds that is

I was under the impression that the supercharger was not on full load under normal driving conditions - hence the vaccum bypass.
Here is a new kit i think that uses the mp62 unit.

If you don't won't to run silly boost and want to keep the standard box in one piece i would go with the cold side kit (am thinking of getting one myself). I have not got one but from all reading a reviews it seems the way to go if you want 'enough' hp.
