Lenso VPD's

Postby zippy1 » Mon Mar 05, 2007 4:21 pm

Hey all,

I've been lurking aroung this forum for a while (some awesome threads and cars here! :D ) but never really posted much.

I have an '89 which is my pride and joy and, to cut a long story short, needs some new wheels. I've given up searching around for decent/available rubber in 14\" and decided to buy myself some new rims.

My criteria is 15\" x 6-7\", lightweight, and relatively inexpensive. I was thinking about some Lenso VPD's ( 15x6.5\", +38 offset, and weigh around 5.9kg), and wondering if anyone else had had any experience with them?

Or had other suggestions?

Cheers

Hi zippy1 - have had them on the SP (16 x 7s) for about 60,000k's and no problems. Rims are not soft, although the painted surface (mine are the \"shadow-chrome\" finsh) is a bitch around the wheel nuts (no clearance, so the rattle gun jockeys stuff the finsh in no time).
I will see if I can get a picture up tonight...

JBT - cheers, i like the look too myself :D

Dave - thanks mate, durability was a bit of concern too, so it's good to hear that. Looking forward to the pics - the place I want to get them from has to bring them in from Sydney, so I can't really look at them in person first.

How much are we talking for these?

I am planning on getting some 15's when my current tyres wear out. I really want a Volk TE37 look-alike, 5-6 spoke with a deep dish design.

I'd prefer 15x7 but would settle for 6.5's if need be. I think 38-45 offset is also about right. Any ideas?

Pretty cheap. The place i was looking at were going to do a package for me - the 4 lensos shod with decent toyo proxes 4 195/50, fitted and balanced etc for about $1000. I've been looking around a while and haven't found much better than that (at a decent price anyway) ... what do you reckon?
