Hardtop (Missing Bits)

Postby GP » Fri Mar 09, 2007 3:06 pm

I put the hardtop back on last night after the window tinting and noticed that the rear latches don't actually latch on to anything
Obviously the hardtop didn't come with the car when new, I was wondering whether I can retrofit the missing parts and if I can buy them?

Are you talking about the side ones? I think it is quite common for people to run with out those, but I guess you could get them from Richard at MX5Plusif you really want them.

Yes, you can fit the missing parts. You can buy the parts from MX5Mania or you can try a Mazda wrecker. They are available new.....but not cheap.

Once you have the parts you need to cut some of the plastic trim on each side of the cockpit, where the latches are on the hardtop.

Or you could drive the car like it was meant to be....topless :)

The above statement was made without knowing your circumstances, ie do you have to park on the street every night and was meant to be read in a humours context.

 I expect that sort of comment these days. The hardtop is mainly for security because I ride the bike to work most days.

Dont smileys remove all liability of the comment being held too seriously?

I once watched a discovery channel doco on this...

\"E-mails were getting so ambiguous that something had to be invented to convey emotion and tone... it was... the smiley\"

Wasnt that doco hugely entertaining... -_-...zzzZZZ

aaarggghhh... i want to drive bald again... but the stupid on and off rain over here... strictly dictates the hairpiece stays ON... else my interior goes for another unplanned soak cycle...
