You want to be carful with the crystals Stan... Make sure no-one in your street has the same frequency installed.

When I was a kid I changed teh crystals in my remote control car and the kid next door had teh same crystals, suddenly he had control of my car and rammed it into the side of my house causing major damage.

 :D

Will be good to hear your opinion on power after ~5200rpm... i thought i felt an increase but i may have had to much to smoke

increase was probably more because of the cooler weather. I havent dríven it for a few days. the reason i say that is because the CAI roar was much noisier....when it gets noisy...that means its getting cooler.
certainly no increase after 6500.

Had real trouble getting myself to go higher than 7000  i'm such a wuss

on my RPM guage it got to 7800 but that prolly cause its slightlyout.

i'll play around a little more with the AFM spring.

Yeah, apparently it leans out fuel resulting in a better mixture thus giving a teeny weeny bit more oomp :D

Dont worry, i still havent touched the new limiter yet... the other half tho has had some fun bouncing off it (track day the exhaust flange came loose and couldnt hear the engine)

The noise above 7400rpm is unbelievable

I found leaning out the fuel with the AFM didn't give me extra acceleration down the straigh line. Or say from a standing start. but did feel slightly more powerful when accelerating up a slight incline. Having said that, it wasn't a earth shattering difference just a slight difference i thought i felt.

If anything I thought it may have been slightly flatter between 3500-5000. Could be because its now running extra lean. Which isnt good. I maight take the AFM spring back to standard. I'll be driving it again on the weekend.
but certainly more go above that......but i think that was due to the weather cooling down. & it was pissing down

for anyone else......i'm talking about very minor differences which are harldy noticeable. Some possebly also the mind playing tricks.

The Base timing which is running at 16BTDC may be slightly affecting things over the whole range as well

what I should really do is let Mania have a go

STM - How do you adjust the AFM spring? I have an RX7 AFM around that I'd like to get in the car, so I'll need to adjust it. 8)

on top is a black cap. This cap is sealed.
Break the seal.
lift the black cap
then the spring will get exposed.

I'm not sure if this the is correct adjustment required for the RX7 AFM.

All i know is that the Idle with a RX7 AFM is crap & it adds a few Hp in the high range RPM

tighten the spring 2 clicks and see how it goes. might need to tighten it a bit more than that seeing as it's an rx7 one. you'll be intercepting the signal anyway so you'll be able to tune it so it runs smooth, right?

to lean out the the fuel at high RPM you need to tighten the spring.

tighten it ....take her for a drive....see how it changes. You can do the opposite as well

I marked the original position. I ended up tightening the spring by 3 clicks of the cogg thats in there. I can't recall if it was clockwise or anticlock wise. You do need to tread carefull. You do not want to tighten it too much. There is a way to do it correctly by measuring Ohms or something......but i have no idear when it comes electronics.

for anyone else.....you're palying with fire. Don't do it unless you know what you are doing I had someone loocking over my shoulder directly when exchanging the crystal & indirectly when i mucked with the AFM a while back. You touch it & if you ƒü¢k it.......Don't come to me & cry

there is a whole article on this. The shortcut is somewhere in the Archived ACT threds.
