I have seen photos of some leather seats in other MX5's that have had original head rest speakers in them and there were holes in the headrest material to let the sound come through without any sort of muffling which would happen if you put solid non-perforated (no holes) material over the front of any speaker. If you like I can send you a scanned photo so that you can see what I mean.
If the small holes can be done in the headrest area, then absolutely I am in for a group buy. I really like what you have shown in the photos.

I would take the template of the standard nb (which I think its called nb30p1). There dont seem to be much 8Bs around.
Also is the seats same for nb30p1 and nb30p2?
Thanks

I agree too, those with older seats will have a bigger need for covers.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

nb30p1 = nb8a 1998-2000
nb30p2 = nb8b 2001-2005
There's probably a similar number of each around, Max. However, Okibi's right in saying that you're likely to get more biz from 8a owners, simply because they're older and more of them will be due for a seat recover.
Cheers,
Alf

Thanks for all the valuable information.
Could you please further confirm if nb8a covers are glued or not to the seat foam?
The way I figure this out is by trying to hold up the material, if glued it doesnt come into your hand.
Confirm for both top and bottom sections please.
Insurgence is interested in donating his stock seat covers.
If all good, I can start immediately by next Monday, which wont take long to finish it all
Regards

Yes I would before covers that DONT slip over the stock ones.
That way they should fit a lot better.
Also can you sew a pocket into the back of the seats (like the stock seats)?
If they're leather, i'm guessing thicker bits on the bolsters (because thats where they wear through) and perforated in the middle?
I'd be happy with all black with red baseball stitching or dark gray center sections like OEM.
The red and black are a little too \"LOOK AT ME\" for my liking and I wouldn't need any logos done
