NA8/NB Brake Calipers onto an NA6
Will NA8 or NB calipers fit on a NA6? Are they able to be swapped straight onto the NA6 rotors or must everything be changed?

As Fatty said, you have to change the calipers, pads and rotors.

Thanks for posting that link Juffa. I've been wondering about this for a while.

I just did the NA6A to NB8B brake conversion 2 weeks ago and I love it!
You need the whole set as Juff and PHATTY said.
I actually had the WHOLE set with dust covers etc. I ended up just cutting off the na6 rear covers and now have none on the back and just eased the front dust covers back a little with a 'wound in' shifter spanner, which works a treat!
I am not sure about the NA6 to NA8/NB8A... But if you do the conversion I have done...NA6A to NB8B.......
YOU MUST GET THE BRAKE LINES TOO!!!! MUST!!!
they are slightly longer and the metal 'ends'(technical term) connect at different angles to your na6 lines. The na6 lines will not fit, they are too short and the metal connector rotations is wrong.
ALSO..... if you like the 'FEEL' of your current brake pedal, I advise getting the NB8B master cylinder too. I liked my old brake feel, but really like the new brake feel. Sure it has a fair bit more travel, however it does feel like a new car does. So I don't mind it and got used to it very quickly.
One last piece of advise... either get nice machine rotors that have plenty of meat left and get a new set of pads. I guess this only applies if you buy a 2nd hand set like I did. I ended up getting new front pads and new rears are on the way soon. I think I can only go Genuine mazda on the rears unfortunately... although I haven't done much research.
Oh yeah aaaaaaaaaaand... the NB8B brakes ARE bigger then the NA8 and NB8A brakes.
contact me if you have any questions.

Hey Mickfred. When I first installed my larger brakes I had the same problem. In one set of online instructions it talked about reversing the left and right front brakes when installing the larger calipers, i.e. left to rigt and right to left. The brake lines then matched up perfectly.

Hey Juff...
I actually tried that, but because of the extra(though ever so slightly) size of the NB8B Calipers, they lines were still almost an inch too short. Otherwise what you've said makes sense. Now that I think about it... they may actually fit.... However not the the steering is at full lock in the direction that causes the brake line to extend. I'd have to grab my old lines and double check before I confirmed that though.

I did the whole upgrade too well worth it, big difference is breaking.
Recommend it for sure, and yeh while you got the calipers off should give them a paint......make you go faster ;)
