I don't think they are 3.63. I remember in the early literature I got on the SE the FD was lower then a std NB8B. Coupled with the lower rev limit it all seemed a but strange.
The guys in the states speak of changing their FD to a 3.63 for beter fuel economy/lower revs at speed/a more usable 1st gear. See here.
Would the Aust delivered SEs be the same?

Both seem to be a 3.636 but maybe with the 17's it made them too tall?
