Green_Comet,
if you want a hand tuning it and have a spare O2 sensor port in your exhaust I have an Autronics wideband lambda meter and sensor.
I do not have a sniffer for the tail pipe though so you will need an extra O2 port in your exhaust.
If you don't have one any exhaust place should be able to put one in and supply a blanking plug for when you are not using it.
Let me know if you want a hand.

Hey Jake,

That would be excellent, and a really big help in tuning it right. I'll go down to an exhaust joint tomorrow morning, and get them to put in an extra o2 sensor port. My Headers are HPC coated, so i might get it put in the mid pipe. I have never used a Autronics computer before, so i think i'll need your help.

I should have a dodgy day at my house.. with beer and food provided.

Thanks heaps mate.

Cheers
Ryan

Ryan,
mid pipe is a good place to put it, just get it in the side of the pipe so there are no clearance issues with the sensor.
At the moment Sunday arvo looks clear for me. I will pm you when I know more.

The DFA will only work when the car is in open loop anyway (otherwise it is just fighting the ECU). So you can take the stock O2 sensor out and use that bung. With the O2 sensor out, the car will be in open loop and you can tune accordingly. No need for a second bung, and easy to replace when finished. That's what I'd do, then again, I'm a tight-ass!

i think the ecu might sh*t itself without the stock sensor attached tho.

wow my dfa install was dead simple. all these issues you guys are having, what a bummer. i guess that is the curse of the d.i.y path though. you can save some money but if something goes wrong , in the long run it can end up costing more than if you had just bought a plug and play solution.

Nope, remember how I had the car running without the sensor while I was on the phone to you that arvo? 8) It just thinks it is cold and runs in cold start mode(open loop)!

well yeah that is a good point, but i remember we discussed this here on the forum once and somebody pointed out that the ecu will be adding fuel (running rich) coz it thinks the engine is cold. but then there is a temp sensor so maybe this is wrong.

you could be right . fark who knows. there are so many bloody unknown variables when you are trying to trick the stock ecu.

i say bring on the megasquirt :D i can't wait.

Good to hear

If Mossy's clutch doesn't arrive give me a call and we can still do some tuning.
