Thanks Mon, but they are picis of the scrape, not the run. Al said some were coming and I know Rodney took a bucket load as usual.
And where did you get to? I thought you were going to turn up. You missed a whole lota fun!

Yeha I was going to come, but I was sooo tried by the time I finished work. I work on a Saturday from 9am - 5:30pm and I just could face what would have been about 4 hours of driving on top of that. I wish it were on the Sunday... :( Missed all the fun :(

And I was a little hesitant to turn up because it was an "Official Club Run" and Im not an official club member. I did go on the January one down to the Dromana drive-ins, but I wouldnt say I felt like I got a terribly warm reception. Im not sure if I will join the club or not yet. For now I might just keep gate crashing to occasional Thursday night.

Doesnt matter, I joined up about 2 years prior to purchasing my MX-5, and went on heaps of runs with no car....

Oh, I mean no disrespect to the club or its members...

Im sure they are by and large a lovley bunch and have been very welcoming to others, It was more a case of a few bad apples putting a bad taste in my mouth when the rest are probably quite sweet.

Let me guess? You borrowed a car and the rest is history

Mon, Sorry to see you weren't happy with the members on that run. I guess the fact that they own an MX5 makes them loud and proud and you just have to speak up to be heard, like err Fatty was.

was i ?

i'm usually pretty reserved i think.
were you there sam? did we meet?
i guess the problem with forums / usernames is that we are all a bit anonymous and when we do actually meet, we use our normal names so i may have meet a few forum people and not even known it.
i know i did meet "fastfreddygaskit" tho, as he asked me if i was on the forum when we introduced ourselves to each other. he called me a "smartass" too    . i guess it takes one to know one

Ummm
I didn't call you one.
I just stated fact.
8) 8) 8)
When one becomes a member, you get a funky name badge to wear with YOUR colour mx5 on it.
Makes remembering names, and resolving names to auscartalk id's easier.
Though, not everyone here is a member and not all members are here.
Which reminds me....I may have to renew...after July

Nah. The thought of 30 rev heads in super fast cars whipping around the mountains at night scares the begeebers out of me. Besides, we raced at Calder the next day. hahahaha. Heard all about the run and it sounded like every one had loads of fun as to be expected with club events.

I know where you're coming from with meeting people. I'm the motorsport contact for the club and speak to people all the time with info. I don't remember names, faces or cars (except when they've posted an impressive time on track). You just smile.

hey sam... i ticked the box saying that i am interested in motorsport events, pleas contact me with more info etc etc, so maybe i will be hearing from you soon.

i am itching to get my little car out on the track. especially once my avo kit is fitted.
i am a total newbie, never done any form of racing before (never even really been into cars until i bought my mx5), but yeah i am really looking forward to it.
