To install the lights, I drilled a hole on each side of the metal brace that the tie-down hook used to attach to, and attached the light bracket there. At the rear of the passenger side engine compartment of my NA, there are two unused electrical plugs where I tapped the wires running to the relay. The DRL come on whenever the ignition is on. I can also tap into one of the plug terminals so that the DRL go off when the headlights are on. I choose to have them on irrespective of the headlights. Since they are low-wattage light, they just fickle but don't go off while I start the engine. The relay is fused so there is no need for an additional fuse.
