Just heed what kitkat said. They do take a while to scrub in.

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the Forum. You guys have been an absolute almanac of information. javascript:emoticon('')
Mr. Green

Anyway, I'm looking for new tyres for a Clubman I picked up over the weekend.

However I've noticed that there isn't a large selection of performance tyres for 14\" rims. I was utterly dissapointed when I realised the Toyo T1-R's and GSD3's weren't made for 14\" rims!

Anyway, I've shortlisted the possible tyres to:
- Toyo Trampios
- Yokohoma C-Drives
- G3's

What do you guys think of Toyo Trampio's?

Are there any other road tyres you can recommend me? I'm mainly looking for twisty roads as opposed to track racking. So semi slicks are out of the qn :)

I've got C-drives on an Accord Euro and they've been pretty good. Haven't really tested it to it's limits, after all it's a big family car and I don't wanna take chances :P. Only problem I find is that they do wear faster than other tyres cos it's a really soft compound, and they are pretty slippery for the first few hundred km's.

On the MX5, I've only tried the Goodyear Eagle F1's (GSD3) but as mentioned, no 14\" for it.

Azenis RT615's classed as semi's?? They do come in 195/60R14 and from some members here, they really stick :P . Pitty it's a bit expensive.

Easy, just get some 98-2000 NB8A MX-5 15x6's and the choices are much better! 8)

I picked up a set of NA wheels and almost new GIIIs off ebay the other day. Haven't put them on the car yet, but I'll let you know what I think when I get a chance.

Hey Guys, thanks for you input.

I think I'm going to fit G3's. Reason is because I was told Trampio's were fairly old, and there would be a chance that I'd get some old stale (Pre 02) stock? Also I find the G3 Tread is slightly more sexy than the C-drives. javascript:emoticon('8)')
Cool

I'd also be curious to try the RT615's but I think they'll be priced outside my budget. I was told from a friend that they were $250 / corner?

bumping old thread to ask a question about the yokohama c-drives.

i have just bought a set of standard 15 x 6 nb8a rims for my na6.

the c drives come in 6 different sizes to fit these rims. 3 of them are 185 width, the other 3 are 195 width. then they each have a different profile ranging from 50 thru to 65.

can anyone tell me which is the best set to get for the mx5? this is mainly for road driving, with a fair bit of twisty stuff on the weekends.

i'm guessing there must be one which is more suited than the others for our cars.

185/55R15 82V 185 55 15 5 - 6.5 585
185/60R15 88H 185 60 15 5 - 6.5 606
185/65R15 88H 185 65 15 5 - 6.5 621
195/50R15 82V 195 50 15 5.5 - 7 578
195/55R15 89V 195 55 15 5 - 7 595
195/60R15 88V 195 60 15 5.5 - 7 614

For an NA6 you want 195/50/15. This is a poofteenth different to stock.

Check out the tyre calculator here.
