Wiring to the ECU

Postby Boags » Sun Jan 28, 2007 11:12 am

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me which wire into the ECU is the tac signal? My emanage is showing 0RPM at all times, and the connection I have with the wire is good... :? Wrong wire methinks. Any info would be appreciated!!

Thanks,

Boags

tach from cas is white wire, pin 24 on the ob37 connector
the 2nd tach from the cas is the yellow wire, pin 25.

at least that's what the pinout readout i have says.

also mate, if you can't figure it out but know which wire it is in the engine bay (the one at the back of the cas, duh), there is an easy way to confirm where that wire ends up in the ecu harness. have a look at the 3rd and 4th pic in this thread to see how i did it when i was installing my o2 meter. you'll just need a multimeter, a couple of alligator clips and some pins.

So apparently I'm meant to post something, Boags? I can't for the life of me remember what! :)

Also, if you need a schematic for a tach driver, I have one which I used to drive the gauge tach in the instrument cluster - I use it on the Haltech to monitor RPMs.

Did you ever find the right wire?

Black with white stripe on my 94.. possibly the same for yours.

I'm going to study UA's wiring to figure out what the problem is... Just have to find time. :frown:
