Koni VS KYB AGX

Ok, ive seen in a few old posts there has been a bit of talk about Koni VS KYB AGX shocks....but nothing recently.
Im looking at getting some new shocks to run with standard springs in my NA8.....I really love the sound of the KYB's...but have read mixed reviews in regards to long term durability. Just wondering if there are any KYB owners that have clocked up a few K's, wheter they are still happy?

Ive seen some great prices on Ebay US for these, what experiences have people had ordering these- can anyone recommend a seller?

I have just bought the KYB AGX along with standard height Kings springs however i am yet to put these it. I'll give an update once they are installed whick looks to be in about 2 weeks time as I am waiting for my FCM bumpstps to arrive :)

Seller I used was \"jdmwerks13\" from the US. I only recieved these last week and arrived in about 10 days from ordering them. Delivered via a courier. Aboslutely no hassles or problems and a few from here had ordered from the same seller with no problems as far as I am aware off. They where approx. $495AU delivered.

ive had my KYB AGX's for about 6 months now...and they r great...
u cant go wrong with either koni or kyb...it just comes down to personal preference...

personally, the fact that the KYB's were so easy to adjust compared to the konis is what made me buy the KYB's over the konis.

Following on from that I've been doing a lot of research on different threads before as well. From what people have said the AGXs are indeed very easy to adjust. However those who have bought Konis have said that they aren't difficult either.

KYB are easy to adjust, but you'll want to leave them on the lowest setting unless heading for the track. I'm actually considering putting the original shocks back on our NB - the KYB ride quality, with standard springs, is less than I'd hoped for. Very little bump compliance on our goat track roads, quite harsh IMHO

At exactly the same stage here.

Have heard the king springs can be a bit harsh on these bumpity roads we have, especially in Sydney, so am looking at shocks with std springs on my NA8.

The KYB to KONI comparison is hard to fault considering the $500 saving when buying from US ebay.

Interested in what pastapete said. Cause i don't really want to shell out $700 to find that i need to follow it up with more $$ to be satisfied with the ride. Has anyone else got comparative thoughts on this?

Considering that my ride is a daily driver (60k or so a day), are these only going to last for the short term?

I didn't find the KYB's and stock springs on my NA8 to be particularly harsh. I ran them on 3 front and 2 rear, or 3 rear with the hardtop or a full boot. From memory 2 is the same damping rate as the stock dampers. The NB ones are different because they only have 4 settings rather than 8 on the NA ones. Maybe the lowest setting is firmer than stock damping on the NB's?

Could the USA ones run different valvings/settings to ours perhaps? :?:

I am a new owner of a set of KYB AGX and Lovells Springs. Had them put on my NA6 2 days ago... They left it on setting number 8 (the hardest) and I was jumping everywhere, but now i'm on setting 2 all around, quite an improvement over the standard ride, feels much better on the twisties.

Koni's are just as easy to adjust as KYB's. In fact, KYB's have to be adjusted from under the car whereas Koni's you can adjust them from the top of the struct without even getting your hands dirty :P . The only problem is with the rear having the plate blocking the left (passenger side) where the fuel hose is, but I've removed that so that I can have clear access to the rear left struct top.

For the price of the KYB's over Koni's, it's a no brainer which one to choose. If I hadn't got my 2nd hand Koni's for a good price, I would have gone with the KYB's too.

I have kings/koni in my NA6 and I agree that it is a tad harsh for public roads. Can't go wrong with comfort with std springs, but can't comment on the performance side of things. On track however, kings/koni combo works like a treat :D

For a budget sport setup i'd get Koni & Eibach Springs.

If you want more adjustment I wouldn't bother with the Koni \"coilovers\" i'd pay a little more and get Tein SS.

I've heard lots of bad comments on the KYB on the US list, perhaps that's because so many of them run them so the complaints might be proportional.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Thanks for your views guys...Im starting to lean a bit more toward Koni- just from the proven reliability aspect.
