Wonder if this isn't similar to an intermittent rattle I have with my NC - seemed to come from the passenger door area, sometimes sounded like a loose speaker in the door, couldn't induce it when I wanted it etc.

On a longer trip one day managed to trace it to the centre soft top latch. It didn't sound like it was coming from there at all but sticking the hand in around the latch stopped the rattle. Can't trace exactly what it is but a quick stop, release and latch in and it's gone...

Anyway DizMX5 - how about sharing the contact details for Mazda Japan? Love to ask them about intermittent problems with the radio that I have from time to time. This is probably the biggest blemish in what is a great ride.

I like writing to Head Office in Japan as it is very effective. I once owned a Mitsi Evo and there was a worldwide recall on one of the computers. Oz dealers had no clue. I wrote to Japan and lo and behold one of the bigwigs at Mitsi Oz rings me and tells me to go to my local dealership to get the new computer fitted.
