quad throttle bodies for road car

Postby 16bit » Thu Jan 11, 2007 5:37 pm

Is this legal to start with and if so who has done it and how much did it cost.

There is a set for sale on mania second hand but they look a little dodgy.

Will it even be worth it for the hp gained?

Is it leagal?
Depends where you live i think, even then it will have to be mod plated (which possibly means an emissions check)

Dodgy looking?
Are they on the website? Cant see them anywhere..

Worth is for the hp?
Depends on what you mean by worth it, if you are expecting a lot of power out of these - then no.
If you are expecting awesome throttle response and drool worthy intake sound - then HELL YES!!!!

You gotta look at supporting mods for this too, like (most likely) a new computer, and possibly a box thingy around the trumpets to pass modding??

There will be plenty of other helpful tips from the guys on here with the same mod, so it's best to listen to them

Sheck has it all pretty right...

To make use of the throttle bodies you need to do head and cams and computer, extractors, ends up costing heaps...and without building a good bottom end you will be lucky to get over 100rwkw...

Best just to fit turbo...
NC Roadie, NC Racey, ND Racey….and a 30AE

Plus several others in the bone yard...

But if you are looking for a quad throttle manifold to suit an early 1.8 - let me know. I have a brand new one sitting in the shed. 8)

That's a tad pessimistic Lou

Maybe a couple of Kw, better throttle response, and a LOVERLY noise ... but if you haven't done the things mentioned above, its not worth it performance wise.

I think I have just talked myself into something - CT, you have mail
I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)
