It started out at 64;CAI extractors, cat etc = 74; microtech and Tighe 805c cams =94.

It has transformed the car, revs better than a 1.6 and is as smooth as.

** Nickers picks jaw up off floor **

Jeebus, I didn't think you could get those sort of gains without a blower... Time to start some planning I feel!!

How has fuel economy been affected?

If I drive it as before on a trip, slightly less economical around 7.7-8.0lt/100klm;give it heaps and you use more, I guess that the power has to come from somewhere, but even really hard dríven through twisties, not more than 10lt/100klm.
It is hard not to give it a fang though,it just wants to go and revs cleanly right through to 7500rpm.

i've heard very good things about those tighe cams on a 1.8. they seem to make it feel more like a 1.6 in the way it revs freely, but obviously with more power. sounds like a great mod.

cheers

the cams are 252 duration, I didnt change pulleys and valve springs, there is no need to.

I bought new billet cams, full details are on my other post under 'More Kw". Engines section.
