is it just me or would any exterior facing air intakes fill with water with the opportunity presents itself?
i just had a crazy idea to attack my front bar with a hole-saw.
No piping as such.
For years i've had the "vents" on the passenger side wheel well covered over and a hidden little scoop forcing air in below the passenger side headlamp.
I've cut that tab the NB8A's have on the headlamp to allow better airflow through the sheet metal hole under the headlight.
So now the fog light vent should do the same as my little scoop did.
Air should be forced into that gap infront of the passenger wheel, pressurize that area, follow the path of least resistance up though the hole under the headlight and into my heat shield.
As for deep puddles, that's one of the reasons I didn't use ducting, it gives me a greater area that would need to fill with water before any made its way up into the heatshield. I have sacrificed some air pressure and left some gaps so that any water that gets in there should drain out fairly freely.
I might use the other side vent for a small oil cooler, then i might pipe the air into a shroud.
