First - have you ordered the part so you know it is definitely in stock?

Second - I think Boags is right, the place is usually locked up tight on Thursdays so check :!:

STOP PRESS :!: :!:

I was driving past Mania this morning so I stopped in to check the situation. David was there re-organising the workshop as they now have additional space adjoining the original area.
He said that now he is going to be full time they will be open on Thursdays 8) . It still pays to phone first instead of just turning up and expecting service

It's a shop. You should be able to turn up and buy things. Isn't that how shops work?

Different story on getting work done though.

Yes they usually are quite busy....working on my car. They are trying to avoid being 'side tracked' (ie others wanting stuff done), after I (politely) advised them that I wasn't happy about how they were supposed to be working on my car to get it done asap, and yet had so many people coming in...I guess on the other hand if they kept turning people down everyone would get the mentality that they are busy 24/7 (which sorta is the case lol). I guess im just not happy at the fact they promised it wouldnt take more than 6 weeks, and yesterday marked the end of week 11....

You can't trust appointments either on Thursdays as Jonno and I have found out the hard way a few times
They do a great job though, full credit for supplying such a great niche market in NSW!!!

But look at the plus side Fuzzlet, after weeks & weeks in the yellow beast you'll really appriciate your 'fridge' when you get it back. Just the little things, like a plastic window you can see through... :D :D

Haha I can see through the plastic window quite well lol....The stitching is coming away so part of the window droops lol. The yellow beast is fun (ie gb dropping a gear when exiting a corner in the wet gives some great low speed drift practise) but I do miss that 3rd pedal...

Haha its all good. I still have a car to get around in at least, just it will be 3 months by the time I pick the car up lol. Still, I'd rather them taking 3 months to do it properly than do a quick job in 6 weeks that breaks 100km after picking it up

Yeah good, but its still work in progress. Im loving the extra kick in the mid range now. Took it to Wakefield the following day and really felt the difference. Pre-turbo there was a lot more grip than grunt, so you'd just get to the mid corner then plant the throttle. Now you have to modulate it more, so i had a lot more fun. Still got smoked by those worked Type R's on the straights though :(

David did a quick job on it to get it running, so it needs more work done. Got the new 1.8 injectors and fuel pump in, but ran out of time to do the fuel controller. He's pulled the timing right back as a safeguard, and the result is that its running slightly lean around 3000, then a little too rich above 4000. Im going to wire the controller in (hey, that sounds like a long weekend job) then take it back for another tune. Also need to get an exhaust because the stock one is strangling it a lot. The boost currently hits about 5.6 psi briefly, then quickly drops back into the 4's and 3's as the revs build. Apparently some new pipe work should fix this.

Also still have to fit the gauges, Wideband O2 and the intercooler. Like i said, its an ongoing project. And after the track day i think my shocks have seen better days. Might get a set of those ebay specials that the guys mentioned on another thread.

How are you liking your braces?? Did you get those gauge faces installed??

The Braces organised by Boags was great, they really changed the handling of the ride, it is much stiffer and heaps more predictable around corners. I couldnt believe the response in handling that you can get from a sub $100 investment.

Regarding the Gauges, yeah I installed them myself, took me pretty much the whole of Xmas day putting it together. Unfortunately my cluster dome cracked, but Ive put in a temporary fix for now.

I used some loctite superglue in my installation of the gauges, bits and pieces... its drying up a whitish residue...

Im going to be leaving my car out in the sun for a bit to dry out the glue some more before I take the cluster apart to polish that crap out... Then the Gauge cluster will be finished (not posting pics of it right now cos its not clean enough)

I bought the matching AC panel from AWD from Mania as well (picked it up for a bargain considering how much they cost brand new!) So the next interior project is to switch all the interior illumination from green to orangey red to match the gauges.

If anyone is interested on how this is done:
