VIC - G.O.R. Dawn patrol on 30/12/06

Postby Boags » Wed Dec 20, 2006 2:05 pm

EDIT:

Fatty wrote:6.30ish at the start of the gor is more than early enough to avoid the caravans etc.

how about 6.00...6.15ish, for a 6.30 start, at the archway thing at the start of the gor.

might be good to get a convoy started off in melbourne someplace too, but as it's looking like i might be already be down the coast on the 29th...i will leave that up to others to decide. but ya know, somewhere like the kfc /shell at the westgate bridge wouldn't be too bad.

Hi All,

As part of the Boags Roadtrip (or in fact the reason for the Boags Roadtrip) I will be doing a dawn patrol on the Great Ocean Road!

I'm talking early. Like 5am kick-off... To make sure the caravans and cardigan wearers don't get in the road of a good run!

I'll BUZZ Fatty to fill in the details, but he will leading the way (I hope).

It would be great to see everyone there, to put names to faces and to enjoy the holiday season in style! 8)

Cheers,

Boags

Its been a few months since I was last on the GOR, should be fun, where and what time?

The only issue is that there is a rediculous amount of traffic on the road at that time of the year. Keep in mind, Lorne has the Falls festival on the 30th and 31st.

Original post edited... If that doesn't answer all of your questions, you'll have to bug Fatty, he's "the man" on this one.

Um... is anybody from Adelaide planning on attending this run   ? I wasn't thinking about it at all as I was expecting my car to arrive from Brisbane after New Years but now since it's in the garage, I'm seriously thinking about it.

I'll probably consider myself crazy if I'm the only one though...

Besides, it would be great to catch up with Boags to congratulate him on his latest accomplishment of fixing his car :D

I did the GOR all the way to Warrnambool Wed/ Thur, if you are going to Lorne most advisable to go to Erskine falls, turn right into Williams st in Lorne . It is about 10klms of twisty roads with a 100kph speed limit :) , & the added bonus is the beautiful falls when you get there only about a 150 metre walk.
I thank the poor buggers who originally built the GOR & Mazda for giving us a car with great handling to enjoy it.
