what is this 'timer buzzer' thing?

Postby Shadow » Wed Dec 06, 2006 11:29 am

just wondering if anyone can tell me what this thing is:
hopefully these pictures will work.
it was found under the dash, disconnected. i was wondering what it does (or is supposed to do) and should it in fact be connected?
please go here since my pictures won't load.

Cheers,
Shadow.

sorry for insanely large pictures. the thing is only about 40-50mm long and a 20mm square. my search has foudn stuff like light alarms etc. would this be right?

It is one of those annoying seatbelt type buzzers that comes on when you turn the ignition on, or low oil pressure I think, but also when you hit 180k's on your import speedo.

Only on eunos imports

Could be the light alarm, or could be the door ajar alarm, probably the same buzzer for both i would assume.

Shouldn't really be disconnected though, i disconnected the door alarm but that was unplugging a plastic thing that went into the ignition. Best bang for buck interior mod i ever did actually!

Personally i like the alarm that tells me i've lft my lights on, but the one that went off whenever the door was open and the key in the ignition annoyed the heck out of me!

There's an audible rev limiter alarm? I've hit the limiter a heap of times, but never heard a buzzer.

Although I disconnected the seatbelt buzzer within a few hours of owning the car - INSANELY annoying... No idea how the previous owner put up with it for all those years.

not 100% certain because i disconnected mine before I ever hit the 180 limiter. the 180s and s13s however have them and its the same buzzer as the seatbelt one, so i can only assume it is the same for the roadsters

Ah, speed limiter. Now I get it.

I've only hit the speed limiter once, but that was well after I'd disconnected the buzzer.
