Hi folks

It's been nearly 6 months since I swapped the stock springs and Bilsteins to KYB AGX and King progressive rates - while the ride is marginally better on soft settings and being an inch lower the car seems to corner flatter, there's soemthing I can't seem to get over.

The car feels weird on turning in (not 100% sure if that's it) - in the past with the Bilsteins/stock springs I would always know how much wheel to turn for a given corner and the car would just carve an arc *exactly* how I want it.

These days, I often find myself turning slightly more than necessary (just a *tiny* bit more) and needing to correct (we're talking like 1 or 2 degrees on the steering wheel), mind you the car's perfectly stable - it FEELS as though the tyres aren't getting into the turn at the start, so I give it slightly more and then it responds and I end up turning a little more than I want.

It's definitely not oversteering or anything dramatic and dangerous, and definitely something you'd only pick up if you're into driving and are very used to the way the car behaves.

Just wondering if it's to do with the suspension setting, the alignment, or just the way I drive???

And Im not sure I like the way the front end dips on quick, fast lane changes, but that might just be a function of the softer part of the progressive rate springs.

I assume you got a new alignment after you lowered it?
Shiney black one with added red bits. Member of the fart club. Now with extra doof and Sunlong. - deceased and gone to heaven

Float in the power steering rack? Could be shifting slightly in the bushes as it takes up the load.

Sorted.

Discovered the rear bolt of the front left lower wishbone was loose by about a quarter-turn. That also explains the clunking - I originally thought it was the brake pads/disc that caused the clunking so I jacked up the car to investigate.

The guy who did the alignment last probably skipped breakfast/lunch that day. Mmmm that would also mean I need do get the alignments checked out again... grr

At least now it feels normal :) And no more noise :D
