SE exhaust size?

Postby rvlovell » Wed Nov 29, 2006 10:49 pm

Could someone tell me if 2 1/2 inch pipe is the standard size. I remember reading that SE's have the same exhaust as none turbos, but I find that hard to believe :?

Not quite the same. The midpipe to turbo down pipe connection will be different from the NA car with it's headers.

Also the chrome tip on the (shared) muffler is larger.

See the third dot point under the \"Parts\" heading when FM dissected the MSM/SE.

Clicky.

The pipes on my NB8A are 2\" so one of them is not standard.

I measured the stock SE exhaust,it varies between 2 1/4 and 2 1/2 in a few different spots.
NC Roadie, NC Racey, ND Racey….and a 30AE

Plus several others in the bone yard...

Thanks for that. :D I didn't think the original owner would have changed it but it's nothing like the exhaust on my '99.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Thanks for the pics. That bend before the rear muffler is ridiculous.
