Heater Core Advice

Postby john! » Wed Nov 29, 2006 6:27 pm

I seem to have developed a leak in my heater core over the last week or so. So now it either needs to repaired or replaced.

The question is then, after I pull the dash and remove the old core, is the mx5 heater core unique, or is it a straight swap with other mazda cores, I am presuming it would have to be similar to a 323 or 121 or a capri or something similar. What sort of price would a genuine replacement run?

If not anyone had any luck with repairing/recoring their old core?

Mania have a few,
i replaced my leaky one when I replaced my dash.

Its not an easy thing to do without taking the dash out, but i have heard just the core can be replaced.

I replaced the entire box.
The NB one fits, and is lighter being all aluminium and not copper like the NA ones.
