Alignment update
Getting new tyres tomorrow and just remembered I should get an alignment too....searched thru old threads & found quite a few about alignments but this has confused me even more (which isn't hard) because they all seem different!
Should I just leave it to the guys at Bridgestone who are putting the tyres on and assume they know what they are doing?

Depends if the tyre place can do proper alignments. Last time I had an alignment at some mass market tyre place (The Tyre Factory, Beaurepairs, Bob Jane etc.) the settings were so bad that they must have used a ruler and protractor to do their alignments . I know because I got the before and after settings from a reputable alignment place, and it wasn't long since I had that dodgy alignment (less than 6 months).
Maybe some fellow qld members can guide you to some proper aligners.

Went for a drive and there were slow cars everywhere, why are NC's so common . . . must be NC = Normally Cardiganed.

Me and my friends always go there for alignments and they always get the job done. They'll even align your car according to specific settings you give them.

Give em a few hundred kays to get rid of the release compound before you approach any twisties with gusto, or you'll be saying those tyres are sh!T, especially if we get some rain, after that you'll have a smile you won't believe.

i have, since telling the spyster about said place, been back for a visit, only to find that ownership has changed .........however, i know the new manager & worded him up on potential MX5 club members i'll be pointing in his direction, he realised the error of his ways & will be more welcoming to the next member to price tyres at his establishment........he knows his stuff, he just needed some gentle advice
i do have another couple of contacts on the GC.........
Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often

Hmm - even after quick drive down to Cabarita to se how they feel I have a huge smile on my face ... road noise - what road noise?

I think putting air into a tyre already filled with nitrogen defeats the purpose of it putting nitrogen in the first place: Link
Advantages of nitrogen is that there is less variations in temp and less pressure lost compared to air. For hardcore tracker this would be good during a long races, but for your average joe I don't see the real benefit of it. Checking pressure every 2-3 weeks with your a good pressure gauge and filling it with free air from the servo is good enough.

I have a question (not surprising ) regarding alignment but didn't want to start a whole new thread. I was reading the alignment specs put up in the Tech Archive and saw that they are based on a stock standard setup.
I'm putting on 15x7\" rims and 205/50/15 tyres onto the car. Would the size and width of the rim and tyre affect how camber/castor/toe etc. should be setup compared to those specs mentioned? Or can I just walk into any Bridgestone or any sort of tyre shop and hand them those specs for alignment?
Sorry if it is a silly question...
