Originally it was from Miata sport in Adelaide
but....
as time went on
the front type 1 racing beat bar got upgraded to a full nose
Type 1 now resides on Uncle arthurs car!
and my new bar with vent now on Stan The Mans car!
roadster cover went south to Drift fury!
New front bar is from carmate(took more than alittle bit to get it to fit right)
side skirts are the miata sport ones which are millen copies
They also went under the saw for functionality!
Rear is where it get good!
the pods were customised alittle to fit(they were from miata sport as well)
the rear bar was hacked up and a 92 nissan bluebird numberplate surround inserted
No this did not fit but I made it fit!
If you cut about 125mm out of the legnth and re join it turn the whole unit upside down it now will fit the rear bar section perfectly
Cant tell you haw I worked out it will fit thats a trade secret!
and the piece da residance the rear beaver panel
now weighing substantially more than mazda ever intended
was laid up in glass and done in foam sandwich so you dont get the ripple effect!
all the other usual stuff filling oaa the holes debadging etc as well
really depends on how far you really want to go!
I stopped at a rolling chassis with the rebuild anymore stuff coming off I would have needed a jig to sit the car on!
plenty around you just have to keep an eye out,
if you are looking for quality you cant go past the miatasport/SSV kit
the front type one bar fits without any mods you just have to paint it
carmate if your desperate ( I was i saw the front bar on a car in the US and was hooked)
there are others out there or you could buy something off the shelf and further enhance like what muzza2 did!
possibilities are endless
really come down to how deep you pockets are and how much time you want to spend
I aint got deep pockets, but i did all the glass work all the tin work and all the prep work
I even sprayed a few parts!
but I took 4 weeks of work and hit it hard and gave myself a deadline to work to!
I made it to the dead line car went on the trailer to the show with no brakes! and leaking cooling system
looking back now though I don't think I would have done it any differently!
I still have not seen another car in aus and only a few overseas with the smoothed over rear panel
I think I like that bit the most! esp. now with the VW turbo badge!
Cassie starts at porsche on the gold coast next week so getting another turbo badge for the surf now
jez i can talk rubish some times!
chow chow!
