I personally felt It made bugger all difference. But then....I fitted the tower brace after i fitted the lower brace on an early NA6 , as well as a BD roll bar, but left it in for the bling. A friend of mine whose judgemet i respect, fitted the top brace without having a lower brace & roll bar & thought it made a huge difference. Its a bit of a COW actually. Just ask Okibi. So just fit it & make your own judgement.

Bling factor only IMO, but worth the $100 or so bucks just for that, any rigidity is a bonus... 8)

fair enough guys.

i did fit subframe braces (front and back) recently and i definately felt an improvement.

so maybe the upper strut brace is only worthwhile if you don't have the subframe ones already. but anyway, it only costs me $75 including delivery, so no big deal, even if it's only a 5% improvement.
i was thinking of a seatbelt tower brace next...but have heard the same thing, if you have rear subframe braces it won't make much difference.

but anyway like i said i can certainly recommend the subframe braces from mania. at $55 each, they are an awesome bang for buck mod.

Mine fits......but i've just realised..... yours is a 1.8. mines a 1.6......maybe its because of the different size AFM meter?

i'll try to find a pic.

hey!! i thought yours was stock?

imo, lower braces make a lot of diff while the strut brace makes bugger all.

for the record, i fitted the strut brace before the lower bars.

"The almost stock 1.6" refers to the engine itself my friend. in fact ....if memory serves me correctly it was Garry who came up with it about 3 years ago. Apart from the CAI timing advance & a little adjustment on the AFM it is rock stock. The suspension , chasis & driveline has been modded extensively. Thats why it can keep up.
