Are these seats gonna fit into NC RC?

hi guys ....... just got my NC 2 weeks ago and looking for some bucket seat to make me wanna stay in the car for whole day, i know the original leather seats are so comfy but i saw this Bride Pro bucket seat from http://www.passwordjdm.com/product.asp? ... &PT_ID=447
and i am wondering that will it fit into my NC RC??
or anyone knows where they sell it in sydeny because i would like to sit in one before making the decision......and is there any shops in sydney sell those racing seats ??

Umm.. you are aware that the original NC leather seats have Side Air Bags don't you??

i'm sure it'll fit an NC as i have one in my NA with Bride RO rails. no modification needed, bolt straight on.

You will find NA/NB and NC seat rails are completely different for a start, as is the seat runner spacing on the seat.

Then you have to consider the airbag system in the car, and the seat belt warning beeper.

Apart from that, go for it

What are the legalities of removing the airbags? I was fairly certain it was a no-no (or is that just the front ones?).

i am aware of the side air bag and the seat belt beep thing.......
but i think i will try my best to figure out how to over come those matters
sooo does anyone know a place that can check out those racing seats in Sydney area?

I'm looking for seating options at the moment for the track. Cannot fit under the roof with a helmet on...

What an excellent idea - take the air bags -out pesky things-and make the car unroadworthy and knock a motsa off the value of the car. Maybe that should be in the tips section of what to look for in an MX5.

can't remove any safety features

so any airbags can't be removed

Just to clear the air here, since the car is delivered with side airbags, then any seat replacement FOR THE ROAD would also have to have these to meet ADRs (i believe Recaro make such a thing).

I am searching for a seat for track use only. Bucket /racing seats in a daily driver do not make for a comfortable ride.

Besides, half the fun of a track day is the preperation - changing wheels, changing seats, removing all non-essential items (eg. the back seats and spare wheel in my old car).

Talking to Mania will be the best idea here, certainly.

Very harsh Mr Morlock considering that considering that Thunderbirds reasons are track related.

Replacing the original seat with a Recaro, Bride or Mazdaspeed seat temporarily is done by many MX-5 owners before heading to the track and has nothing to do with resale of their MX-5.
As for the safety aspect of not having a side airbag should you wish that the seat remain in the car, thatâ€™s another matter altogether. The owner would need to supply an engineerâ€™s certificate approving the seat and its fixture to the state Transport Authority and received authorisation to remain road worthy.

As for the original post of babotim, we never found out what his problem was with the original NC seat. I do know that on Miatanet that a lot of, shall we say, drivers that have well padded rear ends, complained that the side panels of the seat caused them discomfort. Most just had some sponge inserted under the centre panel to flatten out the seat. For those of us of slimmer dimensions find the seats fantastic and can travel for hours in complete comfort.
