Project Boost

Postby Fuzzlet » Sun Oct 22, 2006 7:02 pm

Thought Id restart the thread in the right section  Anywho, the engine got pulled out on friday....Under the rocker cover, is just disgusting, so it seemed it was needing the rebuild and cleanout. We discovered that the flywheel is gonna have to be replaced, as there are about 30 or so hairline cracks in it  Block is being sent off on monday to be machined, so I'll be popping into mania again on friday to see how things are progressing. Due to a \"the engine's gonna be in pieces why not\" decision, im not also going with forged rods aswel at lower comp pistons, and with summer coming up, radiator is being changed to a larger one, so if anybody is wanting a used NA radiator from a 94 1.8, send me a PM

Good luck. Have you set yourself a budget for the exercise?

You're NOT going with forgies and low comp pistons? or is it a typo...
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Any custom work, or are you going for a turbo kit?

Yea...mania will be doing a "Dyno Queen" tune mode, running as much boost as possible before damage occurs, simply because we can

All custom work. I was considering an AVO kit, but there were some things in it I like, others I didnt, and in the end I wanted to be able to have what I wanted in it. Manifold and dumppipe are genuine SP ones (apparently), IC is a generic front mount (cant remember size tho), running wolf 3D ecu, 350cc injectors (not sure which brand gotta check that). IC piping and exhaust will be custom made by mania

Haha yea they had to finish off another car before I could drop mine off...wasnt happy as I was told they would be working on it from as soon as I dropped it off, but hey, I get to play in the courtesy car :D. As for how much of my body did I sell to medical labs? None...long story short, a hottie at work (customer) assaulted me, i defended myself with neccissary force, he tried having me charged with assault and fired from RailCorp, I turned around and sued him for false accusations and deffimation of name....my budget for turbo work expanded a bit...total cost Im keeping to myself, but its worth every dollar

Onya Fuzzlet.
Too often do you hear of the assaultee getting money etc.
It is good to hear that (occasionally) the legal system get it right in these instances.

PS i am glad to know that it is going to a worthwhile cause!

All the best

Nothing much to update really. Block and head have been off at the machine shop getting cleaned up, they get back on friday so the buildup can really get into gear then. Ive painted the rocker cover a really nice light blue, so Ill post a photo up when i can be bothered :P
