It won't work Matt... You'd need to be under 170cm tall to fit under a BD bar. Go to Mania and have a sit in their race cars and do some measuring from the top of the seat belt tower to the top of your head - this will tell you how much lower their various race seats are than your existing seat. I would be very surprised if you could get under the BD bar by 50mm in any seat. Your only possible solution would be to get a custom bolt in bar made that had enough height, weld in the mounting plates and nuts so you can unbolt it for daily use, then bolt it in for CAMS events. Don't forget to include a forward brace to the passenger's floor/tunnel too.

Worked for me too :P
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

How did it mount ASE05? can you supply some measurements across the lower part of the back (between the side wings)? I looked at Cobra seats and had settled on the Imola II - is the Monaco smaller or larger?

Looks great and is obviously better made than the OBX in mine... I'm jealous!

I mounted a 6mm alloy plate to the base of the seat and used another couple of 6mm plate strips as spacers to mount to the rails. Unfortunately I'm at the same height I was before if not a lil' taller. I'm gonna rip it back out though and mod the plate so I can remove the spacers. If that works out OK, I'm gonna order the 1cm lower rails.

As for how big compared to the others you have mentioned......wouldn't have a clue!

Dims are here:

http://www.cobraseats.com/motorsport/monaco.php

If that's noty enough lemme know and I'll get the tape measure out on the w'end.

Using the OBX designated measuring points on my Cobra Monaco S seats.

    A = 560
    D1 = 330
    D2 = 470
    E = 510

You can see the offset that I used to fit my Monaco S drivers seat in the attached photos.

Image

By offsetting the back a bit towards the trans tunnel, I was able to get the seat to clear the 'B' pillar area of the car. And the seat still goes back and forward to adjust between myself and the missus.

Image

Love the Monaco S, great seat, very comfy and fits my big ass with room to spare.
