It'll be interesting to see what laptimes your new car can do.

....and first outing for me on a racetrack. I guess it's only regularity though.

Can't wait - should be fun!

I hope I don't get blown away by the other MX5s, I've got a bog-standard '94 clubman.

Cheers,
Paul.

The guys and gal will be running in events all day again today - as they were yesterday. Wins and podiums all round with a new fastest ever lap by an MX5 at Wakefield with David in his new car cracking low 1:05s. A great win to Steven in the Red MX5 car and a 2nd and 3rd outright to Matilda in the 2nd turbo Mania car. Boyracer's debut has been very solid with the car easily crackin 11s on 2nd hand treads and racing very strongly as are the north coast connection with 3 MX5 Racing cars racing strongly. Success in the regularity for Bill in his SE with a 2nd as well with NSW Club Captain Mike putting in a good show as always.

Today should bring similar success and excellent racing. I highly recommend the trip if you are looking for some close sports car racing. :D

Had a fantastic fist time out for the SE race car...the only problem for the weekend was in qualifying when the rubber elbow the goes on the throttle body blew off, still did a 1.11.2 sec fastest lap.

5 races followed with some great racing and a bit of drifting,I was running on D01s...best result was a 3rd...worst was a 8th...

Did a best time of 1.09.9...was extremely happy with that, little bit of sorting and a set of slicks will get me in to the 1.07s without too much trouble.

David in the MX5 mania car was the star of the weekend,he did a 1.05.4 and won I think 3 of his races, the mania car is a rocket...

Matilda got in to the 1.07s. in the other mania Turbo.

Nick drove the NA and went really well,Steven in the RedMX5.com car won one of his races.

3 MX5racing.com cars were also running and Chris got in to the 1.12s...

The regularity guys also went well,Mike,Bill and Kevin were all running at the top and all did a great job..

Sensational well run meeting...I will be back...

All results can be viewed here...

Apparently thats a known problem when running extra boost on the SE, they blow up like a balloon, need to substitue the rubber throttle body elbow for a metal one.

Was up at mania on friday, heard/saw the SP replica. They were running a "mania" experimental standalone ECU, which is soon to be tested on the simone's SE. Didnt get to see the dyno result, but daniel mentioned somewhere around the 190rwkw mark on the SP replica?

Sounded like a great weekend, hopefully make it down for the next one.....

Another great weekend by the fantastic crew at FOSC.

The MX5 turn out was terrific with great shows in every eligible event.

The MX5 Mania car in David’s hands is a weapon …… the sound of it at full speed down the front straight is awesome and the flames from the exhaust on decel are very impressive!!! I managed to follow him across the top at one stage and it is just - go… flames… go… flames…go..go..gone…….
The fact he managed a 1.13 on the first lap from a standing start was astounding.

Lou’s silver bullet was impressive on debut and will be even quicker when he gets his other bits.

Miss Matilda drove great and managed a few top 3 finishes.

I had a few great dices with Nick and managed to beat him in one race only to have him beat me in the next!!

Steve got faster and faster during the day and finished in the 1.13’s and some decent final positions despite the best efforts of some of the others to run him off the track. Hello to red MG if your reading.....

Our 3 cars all went terrific with Mark Dumas managing to gain his full racing license and battle all weekend with a Jag and Alfa Sud. Joe fought all weekend with his old foes in those pesky Alfas. I had a great battle with the Porsches, damn fast MG Midgets, MX5’s, and the Marcos that now has some creases down the R/H side that match the ones on the L/H side of my car……….. I managed to get into the 12’s and ended up with a best of 1.12:89 :P

The regularity guys all drove great and we were all cheering along Mike, Bill, Dennis, Kevin, Paul on debut, and the others. Dennis managed to win one of the runs and top 5 along with Mike in another.

All in all the MX5’s were represented very well and a great time was had by all.

Bring on the next one with even more Mazda’s. There’s talk of the Mazda Cup being held as part of the meeting so fingers crossed we can get this up and running again.

Well done everyone!!
