MX5 Club Queensland has been invited to attend the Rolling Thunder Run on the 4th November 06, the invitation was received too late to make it an official event, but individuals may wish to attend.
Subject: Massive Event we want you on.
Hi,
I'm writing to the MX5 Club today to try and involve you in a great event being run on November 4th. This event will have national news coverage from Channel 9 and Channel 10. What is this event you ask? It is called 'Rolling Thunder' and is a cruise set up to help bring attention to something that doesn't always get all the attention it deserves; Child Sexual Abuse, and helping the innocent victims of it. The charity Bravehearts, is the patron of this event, and I am the co-ordinator. I would really love to see a heap of Miata's attend this once a year event, this being the second year this has been run.
It's only a short run, from Beenleigh Tavern, just of the M1 to the Carrara Sport Complex on the Gold Coast, also only one turn off the M1. This event is all about numbers, and we really need you, and your club, there to help send a message around Australia. This is also an awesome way to help raise the image of Car Enthusiasts and distance yourselves from the usual 'Hoon'
tag that tends to be thrown around.
There will be a chance to show your vehicles off at the Beenleigh Tavern before we head off, so many can see you and your club at it's best. We have also secured many awesome sponsors for the day, doing some great giveaways, we are always looking for more, so if you know someone who might be interested, then please pass on my contact details to them, it would be greatly appreciated.
Upon arrival at Beenleigh Tavern (anytime around 9am) there will be heaps of other vehicles to look at, there will be a sausage sizzle, raffle competitions, lots of free giveaways and entertainment.
Some basic details of the event are:
Date: Nov 4th (Saturday)
Meeting Time: From 9am. (Enjoy free giveaways, admire other vehicles, raffle
competition)
Meeting Location: Beenleigh Tavern, just off the M1.
Departure from Tavern: 1015am approx
Travel: With Police Escort, down the M1 to exit Nerang Broadbeach rd and follow to Carrara Sports Complex.
Arrive at Destination: 11am Approx.
Upon arrival at Carrara Sports Complex, we can travel across the road to a free family fun day that The Glades Golf Resort is putting on for all members of the Rolling Thunder Convoy. There will be heaps of Golf related activities, as well as more freebies and food to fill even my belly up!
We (Bravehearts), really need you and your clubs support on this. Can you please either phone me on 0413 994 137 or email me back asap to let me know if you can make it, or if you have any questions. Call me anytime. I've been running events like this for a long time and would really like this to be one of the best, as this cause really deserves it.
For more information on the cruise please check this informative website:

That will maybe answer some questions you may have.
Thankyou so much for taking the time to read this, I am aware it is relatively late notice, but would appreciate it if you and your association could do their best to make it!
Yours Sincerely,
Mr. Chris Wheeldon
Gold Coast Ambassador.
