NB8A tyre suggestions

Postby marcusus » Thu Oct 26, 2006 9:44 am

Alas, I've been burning too much rubber, and it's now time to get new tyres. I've just got the standard 8A rims, and was hoping to get some suggestions about what tyres would be a good option.

This is my first tyre change on the car, so I have no idea what's good and what's not, so any suggestions welcome. I do have a budget, but it's not like I'm super tight with money at the moment, so suggestions across the board (bar the super super high end expensive ones) would be great.

Also, I'm too lazy to bother looking to see if there's another identical thread (I didn't bother looking past the second page in the search results :P ) so apologies if this has been done to death

It has been done to death. This section of the forum has about 200 tyre threads, many of which are on the first page.

Actually, I only count two threads that are kinda similar to what I'm asking, but I see your point.

I suppose I'll do some trawling of the forum later when I'm not at work and have time to read through stuff properly. Was just hoping for a quick and easy response so I could go look at tyres during lunchtime.

The problem is that it isn't a quick and easy question... There are so many options depending on what's more important - grip, wear, noise, price, look, feel etc...

Go and have a perve at new tyres anyway!

Well, if we want to narrow down the options...
Durability, grip, wear are quite high up there.
I don't give a rats about how they look, how noisy they are.
Feel and price are at a medium priority level.

A friend of mine that used to work in tyres recomended Yokohama's. Some of the Kumho's look alright too. So I guess anything along those lines?
