Tein NA shocks

Postby dv8one » Mon Oct 23, 2006 9:05 pm

I have just fitted a set to my car and was wondering if any one could tell me why I have 24 dampner 'clicks' and not 16 or 32 like most people?

Also a mate of mine has HA coil overs and he has 21 'clicks'

Any help thanks

Adam

The instructions tell you. There are more clicks, but that doesn't mean you should use them. They specifically warn not to go past 16 clicks.

I got them second hand.

So they have 24 settings but dont go past 16? Is there a reason for this or just coz' they say not to?

Thanks

The clicks are not actually singlular adjustments in the shock, the screw on the top has the clicks inbuilt. As such, the shock theoretically has infinite adjustment between it's hardest and softest setting.

Setting to full hard, all the way right, screws a grub screw down to place full presure on a little plunger. Full soft allows the plunger to raise up. It can only go so far so limit the setting to 16 from full hard, not any further even though the adjuster allows you to keep going.

The instructions warn that damage could occur if you go softer than 16 clicks.

USE ONLY LEVELS 1-16. Exceeding level 16 may damage the damper.
