the seat was installed last night (with the help of my mate) and the 1st impressions -

pros:
- very light weight (that's obvious);
- well made and good quality;
- very supportive;
- plenty of seat travel for tallish people;

cons (for me):
- not easy to get in/out with the top up;
- the seat back is quite upright.

How do you guys find the \"security\" of these seats? By security I don't mean safety, I mean how tight the seatbelt holds you to the seat. I know that in the OEM seats you get less support on the sides, but I usually wrench the seatbelt down and I rarely move about, even on the track...

I know that side support is FAR superior, but do you find yourself moving forward a bit under brakes with the OEM sealtbelt?

I find mine much more secure all round. Getting in and out with the roof up is a job for a contortionist though :shock:

I have at times put the roof down in the rain to get out... then put it back up again! Depends on how old I'm feeling at the time :roll:

*leaves space for Craig to comment about Old Dogs and New Tricks* The BD bar is great when getting in - put left hand on bar and lower the bod straight down into the seat. If you keep the roof up you will destroy the upholstery on the side of the seat in no time - mine lasted two weeks

still like the comfort though!

for me given my limited milage with the seat, i dont move around under brakes. in fact i dun move around at all!!

i dun think putting a spacer would work. i'd probably need the back to tilt a lot more which would probably reduce my knee space significantly.

in search of having seat travel to fit tall people, Bride had to have the seat quite upright. actually i just need a lumber support to fill the gap on my lower back and i'll be fine.

Hey guys,

I'm think about a pair of SAAS kobalt recliners or something similar from OBX like the torinos as they are around $800 a pair online. I just wondered has anyone sized these brands up, are they likely to fit pretty easy & be legal if I have to get the drill out for some reason?

. I presume most of the obx seats would be the same? If they would mount up after just drilling two holes I would be rapt..

You need to check the dimension chart TK - I didn't find many reclining seats that would fit a 5. The fixed back seats are generally narrower. measure carefully before you buy!
